What Do You Need to Know Before Taking the VA DMV Permit Test?

Before you can get your VA Driver’s License, you must obtain a learner’s permit first. This requires submitting an application, paying fees, passing vision tests, and successfully completing a two-part knowledge exam. What is the Minimum Age to Take the VA DMV Permit Test?

You must be at least 15 years and 6 months old to get your learner’s permit in Virginia. If you’re under 18, before applying for your license you must hold your permit for 9 months. Otherwise if you’re above 18, you must hold your permit for a minimum of 60 days before you an apply for the license.

How Many Questions Are on the Test?

Virginia’s DMV permit test is made up of 35 multiple choice questions, and you must get 30 correct to pass. We highly recommend reaching the 2019 Virginia Driver’s Manual before taking the test, as it covers all of the material the exam would ask about!
